Style meister Robyn Holt and actor Jim Holt do a deal on their historic Woollahra digs

Celebrity stylist and former Vogue Living editor Robyn Holt has been showing the reality TV set in recent years how to turn a renovation into a capital gain.

So it should be little surprise she and her actor husband Jim Holt have done pleasingly well from their Woollahra home, selling it this week for about $3.75 million.

Admittedly, Robyn had applied her trademark talents to the historic 1930s-era “baby grand” since the couple bought it in 2002 for $1.71 million.

Designed by architect F. Glynn Gilling, Robyn has converted a walkway to the garage into a library and an upstairs balcony has been enclosed to form a third bedroom, now with a Juliet balcony.

The couple listed the Wallaroy Road property last September following the birth of their first grandchild Camilla, which inspired them to make a tree change to the Southern Highlands and buy a city pad for their return visits.

Robyn told Title Deeds at the time: “Jim and I love our house tremendously, but it’s time for a new chapter in our lives and selling up is all part of that.

“I can see myself getting lost in a great big garden with vegetables and a whole new life in the country.”

Robyn previously hosted the reality TV show The Renovators, although Jim is no less famous than his wife thanks to roles in Crocodile Dundee II and television series AnzacsA Country Practice and Packed to the Rafters.

McGrath’s Will Manning confirmed the property had sold, but declined to reveal the result. It was listed with Ballard’s Clint Ballard, and more recently with Raine & Horne’s Patrick Cosgrove.

Mario Testino stays at one of Sydney’s most luxurious beachside penthouses in PACIFIC Bondi Beach

Internationally renowned and highly acclaimed fashion and portrait photographer, Mario Testino, recently stayed at the stunning PACIFIC Bondi Beach Lighthouse penthouse as the guest of Vogue Australia. Testino was here to shoot a special Vogue Australia issue for the April edition and resided along the famous Bondi strip during his stay.

Furnished by Hub Furniture and styled by SJB Interiors, the exquisite penthouse apartment is part of Bondi’s most beautiful residential, hotel and retail development, which has just been completed.

With unsurpassable ocean views, Lighthouse 511 has a total area of 457sqm with a 165m2 northerly terrace facing
iconic Bondi Beach. The two-storey penthouse epitomizes a sophisticated relaxed beachfront living environment
encapsulating beautiful finishes, fittings and access to services.

Jonathan Richards, Director of SJB Interiors, in collaboration with Hub Furniture Owner and Director Jaci Foti-Lowe has created a space that encapsulates Bondi chic. The textiles and finishes selected have a luxurious feel to suit a barefoot lifestyle.

Jonathan’s vision for the Lighthouse apartment explores the sheer pleasure of living beautifully by the beach. “It is a residence that delivers relaxed sophistication in sculptural white spaces bathed in daylight. Together we have designed the spaces to exude a cool elegance with natural light tones, playful styling and a refined selection of furniture from Hub,” he says.

Jaci has drawn on her architecture and interior design experience to enhance the space, furnishing the residence with incredible Hub furniture, lighting, flooring and accessories “We are so proud to represent some of the world’s most respected furniture, lighting and accessories brands exclusively in the Australian market – this project has provided an incredible platform to showcase the breadth of our offering,” says Jaci.

Jaci worked closely with Jonathan to showcase furnishings that included Moroso ‘Shanghai tip’ sofas, Lowe Furniture custom designed table, Ivano Redaelli Mylo Beds, Gandia Blasco outdoor furniture and a limited edition John Pawson Bench from When Objects Work. Additional artwork was sourced from the Olsen Irwin gallery and private collections, which included Bill Henson’s emotive work, while Bang & Olufsen contributed their state-of-the-art audiovisual entertainment unit.

It’s been an exciting month for PACIFIC Bondi Beach. With the development completed, residents and tenants have started to move in and enjoy unique access to customized concierge services. Boutique hotel, QT Bondi also opened this month and with its eclectic mix of design, artwork and video installation by Shawn Gladwell offers style and luxury with a touch of quirk, blending in with the laid back lifestyle of Bondi.

Iconic Sydney food retailers – SCOOP Wholefoods, Anita Gelato and Parisi – have already launched their new Bondi stores in the development. Cult menswear brand Saturdays NYC has unveiled its first Australian store at PACIFIC and Face Plus, Gold Gym and anticipated restaurant to follow soon.
