Pet Application

Tenants must obtain written consent before keeping pets in a rental property.

To request consent, please complete the Standard Pet Request Form provided by NSW Fair Trading. You can download the form below:

How to Apply

1. Download and complete Part A of the Pet Request Form.
2. Email the completed form to your property manager.
3. We will then forward your application to the landlord to review and complete Part B.

What Happens Next?

• The landlord will respond within 21 days of receiving your completed application.
• Consent can only be refused for specific reasons, such as:
  • The property is unsuitable for the type of pet (e.g., a large dog in a small apartment).
  • Keeping the pet would breach a law or by-law (e.g., strata rules).
  • The pet poses a risk to the property or others.
• If consent is granted, the landlord may outline reasonable conditions, such as:
  • Regular professional cleaning
  • Damage repair clauses
  • Limits on pet numbers or types
