Location:
This harbour-side suburb, located directly east of the CBD, is one of Sydney's oldest and most exclusive suburbs and encompasses parts of King Cross. The suburb takes its name from the Sydney Harbour bay of the same name, which was named after Governor Lachlan Macquarie's wife Elizabeth.
Services:
Home to a number of historical houses, Elizabeth Bay enjoys a gentler pace of life than the vibrant city just a short distance away. A selection of pre-schools and primary schools service the area and there are excellent bus links, taxi services and a city rail link underground at Kings Cross.
Elizabeth Bay is home to three of Sydney's many theatres: Darlinghurst Theatre, Stables Theatre and Griffin Theatre Co.
