Location:

Immediately east of the CBD and within the City of Sydney local government area, Darlinghurst started life as a slum and red light district. Significant urban renewal has developed the suburb into the up-market, cosmopolitan area that it is today. Home of the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, Darlinghurst has a dynamic and contemporary air.

Services:

A vibrant shopping scene with fashion boutiques, art galleries, bookshops, music shops and multiple restaurants and cafes to choose from, Darlinghurst comes alive as much during the day as it does at night. Cocktail bars, clubs, live music and late night entertainment keep the suburb humming after dark.

Darlinghurst is home to the National Art School of Australia, and the University of Notre Dame’s School of Medicine and School of Nursing. Multiple museums, art galleries and Belvoir Street Theatre are all located here with the rest of Sydney easily accessible from the multiple bus routes and train station just over the Darlinghurst boarder.
