The newly listed Bronte trophy home of Cygnet Capital’s Darien Jagger and wife Katie is expected to smash Bronte’s $25 million record, despite no formal guide being offered.

Sydney’s trendy beachside enclave’s current record was set in December 2021, when the Bronte Road home of the late Seven chief executive Maureen Kerridge sold to Hana-Lia and Gavin Krawchuck, who are behind the Love to Dream infant sleepwear company.

This Tipper Avenue property is expected to break Bronte’s price record.

The Jagger’s Tipper Avenue cul-de-sac property is expected to sell for significantly over the $25 million record, given its expansive 1100 north-facing landholding – over twice the block size of the current record holder.

Add to that two extra bedrooms, a 150-metre frontage, solar-heated saltwater pool, media and billiard room, electric vehicle charging station and European oak floors across multiple living areas overlooking Bronte Beach – and it’s not hard to see why the new trophy listing is a strong contender for Bronte’s real estate gold.

Room with a view: one of the Tipper Avenue property’s six-bedrooms.

The boss of the boutique investment firm, which he co-founded with Jonathan Rosham, and his young family are swapping beachside living for rural serenity, after falling in love with the Southern Highlands where they spent time riding out the height of the pandemic.

It’s understood the Jaggers have chosen well-heeled Burradoo for their bucolic base, after picking up a luxury farmhouse on 4.45 hectares for just under $8 million in late 2021.

Bronte’s new prize listing features a media room and basketball court.

It’s the first time the six-bedroom Bronte home has hit the market, after selling off-market for $16.8 million in 2019, when the Jagger family purchased the designer home from Lisa Burgess-Hoar, wife of Frontier ad agency owner Neil Hoar.

Listing agent James Ball of Ballard Property, who also sold the suburb’s current record holder, says the property’s scale and frontage make it a rare offering in the tightly held eastern beaches’ market.

“It’s the first time this has been offered to the open market” Mr Ballard said, remarking the recent listing has already been met with a lot of expat interest. “It’s got an LA-style resort vibe, it’s extremely private and only 100 metres to the beach. ”

According to local sources, the property is even in contention to upstage big-hitter Bondi, whose residential record stands with the $29 million sale of media heir and gambling tycoon James Packer’s famed Campbell Parade bachelor pad.

The property is also a strong contender to outdo Tamarama’s $29.2 million eastern beaches building record set when socialite Di Maloney picked up an oceanfront block of five apartments in May last year.

The Tipper Avenue compound is more than likely to overshoot Multiplex heir Andrew Robert’s recent $24 million penthouse purchase on Notts Avenue which reset both the Bondi apartment record and the national square metre price at $126,000 per sq metre.

In fact, the one property it’s unlikely to out-perform is the much-anticipated sale of Tamarama’s iconic headland abode Lang Syne, which is on the market with price expectations north of $50 million, after it hit the market for the first time in 63 years last year.
